Additional Details
After filing the Labor Insurance Establishment Notification, estimated premiums must be declared and paid. Estimated premiums are calculated by multiplying the projected total wages of all employees through the end of the fiscal year (March 31) by the insurance premium rate. When actual total wages are finalized at year-end, a settlement is made through the final premium declaration (annual renewal / 年度更新). Any excess or shortfall is applied to the next year's estimated premiums or collected additionally. Submission and payment can be made at the Labor Standards Inspection Office, Prefectural Labor Bureau, or Bank of Japan (including agency banks).
