Definition
Articles of Incorporation (Teikan) establish the fundamental rules of a company including its purpose, trade name, head office location, and capital. For stock companies (KK), notarial certification is required. For LLCs (GK), it is not. Electronic articles save ¥40,000 in stamp duty.
