Definition

A legal entity (hojin) is a body other than a natural person that is recognized by law as a subject of rights and obligations. Types include stock companies, LLCs, associations, and foundations. Subject to corporate tax.

Examples

法人を設立すると、法人税の申告義務が生じます。

When you establish a legal entity (法人), you become obligated to file corporate tax returns.
