Workers' Compensation Insurance
Definition
Public insurance that covers workers for injuries, illness, disability, or death resulting from work or commuting. Premiums are paid entirely by the employer (unlike social insurance which is split). All businesses with employees must enroll. Filed as part of labor insurance (労働保険) together with employment insurance.
