Seal / Stamp

Definition

A Seal (Inkan) is a carved stamp used in place of signatures in Japan. Companies must register a company seal (法人実印) with the Legal Affairs Bureau. Used on official documents, contracts, and government filings. Types include: company seal (会社実印), bank seal (銀行印), and general-use seal (角印). Foreign founders often find this system unfamiliar.

法人設立時に印鑑を法務局に届け出る必要があります。
