Overtime Agreement (Article 36 Agreement)
Definition
A written agreement between employer and workers required under Article 36 of the Labor Standards Act to allow overtime or holiday work. Must be filed with the Labor Standards Inspection Office (労働基準監督署). Without this agreement, requiring overtime work is illegal. Sets limits on overtime hours.
