Overview

Pension offices (年金事務所) are regional offices of the Japan Pension Service (日本年金機構), with 312 locations across Japan. They handle health insurance and employees' pension insurance eligibility, filings, and consultations. Your jurisdictional pension office is determined by the location of your business. You can search for your office by postal code or address on the Japan Pension Service website. The counter accepts filings such as the standard remuneration report (算定基礎届), monthly remuneration change report (月額変更届), enrollment/withdrawal notifications, and bonus payment reports. You can also submit data created with the Notification Creation Program (届書作成プログラム) on CD/DVD.

How to use

• Search for your jurisdictional pension office on the Japan Pension Service website under 'Consultation and Procedure Offices Nationwide' (全国の相談・手続き窓口) • Complete the notification with all required attachments and bring them to the counter • Office hours are generally weekdays 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM • Bring a copy of the notification if you need a receipt • Data created with the Notification Creation Program can be submitted on CD/DVD • Corporate number (法人番号) is required on business filings
