Overview
The NTA Online Return Preparation Tool is a web-based tool on the NTA website for creating tax returns. By entering amounts following on-screen guidance, you can automatically calculate and prepare income tax, individual consumption tax, and gift tax returns. Completed returns can be submitted directly via e-Tax, or printed as PDF for mailing or in-person submission. No software installation is needed — it works entirely in a web browser. It supports both individual income tax returns and individual consumption tax returns.
How to use
• Access the tool from the NTA website • Select the type of return to prepare (income tax, consumption tax) • Enter income amounts, deductions, and tax credits following the on-screen guidance • For e-Tax submission: Authenticate with your My Number Card or ID/Password and submit • For paper submission: Print the completed return as PDF and mail or bring to the tax office • You can save your progress and resume later • Available on smartphones as well
